HelpAge Tanzania wishes to recruit a Community Based Rehabilitation Officer (CBR) position will be based in Kibondo District, Kigoma Region.
Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Integrated Protection Team Leader, She/he is responsible for overall clinical rehabilitation management of patients at the CBR centres for both adults and children with disabilities, coordinate the preparation of rehabilitation action plans, ensure delivery of home-based care to clients, coordinate assessments and delivery of mobility and assistive aids and ensuring the delivery of basic minimum standards are applied to PWDs and Older persons in humanitarian actions.
Work with the protection team to ensure that Persons with Specific Needs (PSNs) are prioritised in various sectors.

The incumbent will also play a key role in building the capacity of Incentive workers and others on issues of rehabilitation, case management, physiotherapy and orthopedic while adhering to multidisciplinary approach in delivering services to PSNs within the refugee camps and surrounding host communities.
Person Specification
- A Degree of Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or Diploma in Physiotherapy and its Equivalent.
- At least 1 year experience of working or dealing with pediatric cases, adult cases or working in CBR programmes.
- Excellent technical understanding of rehabilitation or Physiotherapy services.
- Experience of working with Older People.
- Able to coach, mentor and train staff to undertake CBR services.
- Good Computer knowledge
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to prioritize tasks
- Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
- Able to operate in extremely harsh living and working environment
- Able to communicate both in English and Swahili languages.
