The Bank of Tanzania, an equal opportunity employer and Tanzania’s Central Bank, is looking for suitably qualified public servants to fill the following vacancies at the Head Office, Dodoma, Sub Head Offices in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar and its Branches in Arusha, Mbeya, Mtwara, Mwanza and the Training Institute, Mwanza.

Position:          Medical Officer – 1 Post

Reports to:           Head of Division 

Contract type:     Fixed term

Job Purpose:

To provide effective diagnostic, therapeutic and medical services to staff and specified members of their families.

Key Performance Areas:

• Attend/examine, diagnose and provide treatment and counselling to patients.
• Maintain reports of patients, medical history and monitor changes in their condition.
• Follow-up on patients referred for medical treatment/admitted and provide necessary assistance.
• Participate in the development and implementation of public health programmes for safeguarding and promoting the health of employees and their families.
• Identify requirements and plan for acquisition of drugs and medical equipment and supplies for the Bank’s dispensary.
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

Education/Professional Qualifications required:

• Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Medicine from a recognized University with at least upper second class;

• Must be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika;
• Working experience of not more than six years in the related field.

• Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary and advanced level education should be verified by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
• Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
